Stocktaking services in Zimbabwe

Close the countthe same day.

No piling, no moving: every product is counted right where it sits. Hire a trained stocktaking team to run your stock count on site, or give your own people an offline mobile app. A stocktake takes a fraction of the time, and either way you leave with a variance report and a stock valuation, not a promise to send them later.

  • Counted where it sits, nothing moved
  • Up to 75% faster than table counts
  • Blind counts and recounts
  • Multi-site

Why counts go wrong

A stocktake should not cost you a trading day

Most of the pain is not the counting. It is everything around it.

The shop closes to count

Stock is dragged to a table, cashiers come off the till, and trading stops while the count runs.

The variance arrives late

Numbers surface days or weeks afterwards, when nobody can still say what happened on the shelf.

Nobody trusts the figure

Counts that were not blind and never recounted leave you arguing about the result instead of acting on it.

Two ways to work with us

We count, or you count. Pick what fits.

Use the team, use the app, or use both. The report at the end looks the same.

We count for you

A trained team, on your site

We bring counters, supervisors and phones. You get the variance and valuation pack handed over the same day. Works with or without TotalTally software.

  • Trained field counters and supervisors
  • Blind counts with recounts on high-risk lines
  • Multi-site: one team across your branches
  • Same-day variance and valuation pack
Book a stock count

You count with our app

Your own team, our software

Run the stocktake yourself on phones. Counters scan where the stock sits, supervisors sign off, and the cloud works out the variance.

  • Offline mobile scanning that syncs later
  • Recounts and supervisor sign-off
  • Every site on one dashboard
  • Variance and valuation reports on demand

How a count runs

From first call to signed report

Four steps, the same whether our team or yours holds the phones.

  1. 01

    Scope the count

You tell us the sites, the timing and roughly how many SKUs. We come back with availability and a clear plan.

  2. 02

    Count where it sits

Counters scan each product in place, blind to the expected quantity, so the first count is an honest one.

  3. 03

    Recount and sign off

Gaps that matter are flagged for a recount, and a supervisor signs the result before anyone leaves.

  4. 04

    Hand over the pack

Expected against counted by SKU, plus the value of the gap. Your managers can act on it the same day.

What you receive

Your inventory, in black and white

The deliverable is the point. Every count ends with figures your finance team can book and your managers can act on.

  • Physical count across every counted location
  • Variance report: expected against counted, by SKU
  • Stock valuation: book value of what you hold
  • Recount flags for high-risk or high-value gaps
  • A clean handoff your managers can use immediately

Stocktaking explained

The terms, in plain English

New to stock counts? These are the words that come up in every report.

Stock count
A physical count of what is on your shelves and in your stockroom. Also called a stocktake or an inventory count.
Blind count
Counters record what they see without being shown the system quantity, so the first count is an honest one. Read the blind count guide.
Variance
The difference between the quantity you expected and the quantity you counted, by item. Negative is a shortage, positive a surplus.
Stock valuation
The book value of the stock you hold, and the money value of any gap between expected and counted.
Shrinkage
Stock that disappears between receiving and selling: theft, damage, expiry and admin errors. How to reduce shrinkage.
Questions

Before you book

A stocktake, also called a stock count or inventory count, is a physical count of the goods a business holds, compared against what its records say it should hold. The difference is the variance, and valuing the stock gives the money it is worth.

Variance is the counted quantity minus the expected quantity for each item. A negative figure is a shortage and a positive one is a surplus. Multiply it by the item cost to see what the gap is worth, which is what the valuation shows.

It depends on how much stock you hold and how quickly it moves. Many businesses do a full count once or twice a year and check high-value or fast-moving lines more often. A faster count makes more frequent counts affordable.

The service is a TotalTally team that comes to your site and does the count for you. The app is the software your own people use to run the count. You can use either on its own, or both.

No. The stocktaking service works with or without our software, and the stocktaking app can be chosen on its own when you register.

Yes. Counts are captured on the phone first and sync to the cloud when a connection is available, so a dead signal in the stockroom does not stop the count.

Counters record what they see without being shown the system quantity. That removes the temptation to count to the number, and it makes the variance honest. Lines that look wrong are recounted before sign-off.

It depends on your sites and SKU count, which is why we ask for both when you book. Counting in place is up to 75% faster than traditional table counts.

The software is priced by number of shops, and the current plans are on the pricing page. The counting service is quoted per job once we know your sites, timing and SKU count.

Anywhere in Zimbabwe. The software runs offline and in the cloud, and the counting team travels to you.
